On the Spring Summer 2013 catwalk we debuted a new Cecily, and updated both the classic shoulder style and the tote with intricate flower detailing. Creative director Emma Hill was inspired by English spring flowers for the season, and worked florals into bespoke prints and hardware for bags, shoes and coats.
The signature postman’s lock has a seasonal touch with petal detailing, and the leather trim is softened with a scalloped edge.

The Cecily was introduced as an evolution of the Lily collection, with its signature postman’s lock and woven leather and chain strap. The Cecily has an additional top handle, in thicker woven leather and chain, as well as a longer strap, providing multiple wear options.
The Spring Summer 2013 collection features new leathers and colours, including Nude Silky Snake Print Leather, an intricate hand-cut leather with a textured soft-scale finish.

The Cecily Collection was inspired by the classic Lily bag, taking the woven leather and chain handle detailing but for a thicker strap and added top handle on the Cecily and Medium Cecily. The new tote is a simple, elegant shopper with a signature postman’s lock to keep it part of the family.
The Cecily, Medium Cecily and Cecily Tote come in Biscuit Brown or Black Soft Croc Printed leather, and Nude Silky Snake Printed leather.
Our newest colour choice, Blush, is a soft and dusky shade of pink. This week saw the launch of Brilliant Britain, our celebration of the very best of British, all the undiscovered stories, famous landscapes, intriguing traditions and exciting brands big and small. As a luxury British brand there is much we want to celebrate about our motherland: we started as a small rural brand in the Somerset countryside and are dedicated to maintaining our relationship with the British craft industry.
One of the Mulberry factories is still based in Somerset. Called The Rookery it is where we develop and manufacture many of our bags, and train a new generation of artisans. A second British factory will open next summer.
Over the years many of our bags have become classics – loved for the unique Mulberry mix of beautifully crafted luxury and common-sense practicality.
A shadow of iconic hardware is Maisie’s design signature. All the details, but in a unique trompe l’oeil front panel. With minimal hardware, we made sure Maisie’s choice of leathers were tactile to touch. Hand-cut Silky Snake Print leather and soft Shearling Sheepskin both add texture and a contemporary yet crafted twist to the newest Mulberry bag family.
A closer look at some of the key details from Spring Summer 2013. Key prints combined florals and a new tropical-inspired gecko design, hand-woven jacquard was featured on bags, shoes and ready-to-wear and the new Willow collection was introduced – the chic, structured and multi-functional tote with zip-detached front clutch.
